Draft
Terms of use
This is a draft for the owner to review with a lawyer before launch. It is not legal advice.
Adults only
You must be 18 or older to create an account. HomeroomCal is not for children. Do not give a child the sign-in link, the forwarding address, or a share link as if it were their account.
Not the school
HomeroomCal reads mail you forward and can be wrong. It misses items, misreads dates, and can confuse two kids. You still have to check the school’s own message before you rely on a dismissal time, a fee, or a permission slip. Nothing here is an official notice from a district.
The account
Sign-in is a magic link to your email. You are responsible for that inbox. Your forwarding address is a secret. Don’t post it publicly. You choose which addresses may send mail, and whether automatic school forwards are allowed.
Trial and price
New families get 14 days of access without a card. After that, reading new mail and the morning digest stop until you subscribe. Checkout is Stripe. The price is $6 per month or $59 per year. If you subscribe while the trial is still running, Stripe is told to end the trial on the same day it already ends, so you don’t get a second 14 days. Stripe requires the remaining trial to be at least 48 hours; otherwise checkout charges at once. Cancel or change the card in the Stripe customer portal. Taxes may be added by Stripe.
Acceptable use
Don’t use HomeroomCal to store mail you have no right to forward, to harass anyone, or to send mail to someone else’s family address. We can refuse mail that blows past the size, PDF page, or monthly limits, and we can close an account that abuses the service.
Your content
You keep what you forward. You give HomeroomCal permission to store it, send the text and files to the extraction provider, and show the extracted items to people who have your calendar or share link.
Disclaimers
The service is provided as available. Extraction will be incomplete sometimes. We don’t promise that a digest arrives every morning if a provider is down. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the previous 12 months. Some states don’t allow that limit; then it applies only as far as it can.
Law
This draft uses the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The owner should confirm that choice before launch.
